Poetry by Bill Neumire
A friend with Alzheimer's begins painting Mountains

I jump in the lake
and nothing new happens.
But it feels different.
It is critical that I talk
to you.
Most of the time
I’m stumbling forward
which, in the dark, I learn
is not forward at all.
